We celebrated Christmas with most of my family on the day after Thanksgiving this year. Baba received a Zoingo-Boingo from my parents (that's a Pogo Ball for those of you from my generation), and he's been working on learning how to use it. He wanted to share his success with all of you:
We had a special visitor to our backyard today--what appeared to be a Great Horned Owl. Having never before seen an owl of any kind in the wild, I was as excited as the kids.
This is what paper plates, scratch paper, plastic knives, masking tape and a little imagination will do for you. Oh, and it also helps if your children have seen "Rat Tooting" a few dozen times . . .
We arrived safely in Kentucky at around 8:00 this evening (local time). For awhile this morning we thought we were going to have to cancel the trip because our van wouldn't start. The problem ended up being a dead battery, and James was able to jump it back to life in time to prevent substantial delay.
The kids are (mostly) bedded down for the night, so James and I will be trying to get some sleep soon as well. We've got a busy day ahead of us tomorrow and then long travel again on Monday. For now, here are some more pictures of the little sweetheart:
